GAWDA Members React To Health Care Law

On Thursday, June 22, the Supreme Court upheld in a 5-4 vote the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate requiring most Americans to obtain health insurance or face a penalty. The Supreme Court justices determined that the penalty was not unconstitutional because it could be characterized as a tax. This decision is sure to have major implications for businesses across the country. GAWDA Calls for Hazmat Fee Reduction

GAWDA is working with a coalition of associations representing shippers and carriers of hazardous materials in all modes seeking a reduction of the annual hazardous materials registration fee. Currently, large companies pay $3,000 a year, and small companies pay $250 annually.  Read more...

Colorado Springs Convention Update

The stage is set for the 2012 GAWDA Annual Convention! After 8 days, members had picked up over 1,523 hotel room nights, filling 91 percent of the original Broadmoor room block. At the same time, news reports of the Colorado Springs wildfires had everyone on edge. Read more...
