A severe weather system ripped through 14 states on April 27-28. Destruction from 305 tornadoes that hit the ground left almost 400 people dead, many injured, and tens of thousands of businesses and houses decimated. GAWDA Connection staff contacted distributors with locations in the storm’s path, and is happy to report that, remarkably, no one suffered major damage. In one of the hardest hit cities, Tuscaloosa, AL, 2 member companies—Atlas Welding Supply Co. and Southern Gas and Supply—escaped the storm’s wrath, despite being located less than three-quarters and half a mile away respectively from the twisters’ path.

Members Meet In Mississippi

A total of 80 GAWDA members gathered March 30-31 at the IP Casino Resort Spa for the Biloxi, MS, regional meeting. Following Wednesday’s golf scramble at Shell Landing and a reception at IP Casino, members got down to business on Thursday, beginning with a session by Mark Hunter on growing sales profitability.
