In a random poll of GAWDA distributors, Welding & Gases Today found that respondents in every region across the country are cautiously optimistic as they fight back for recovery. “Operation 2011: Resuscitating Sales,” WGT’s annual distributor Business Forecast, shows distributors are generally optimistic for 2011, for reasons ranging from pent-up demand to technological advancements in equipment to improved employee training. More than 75 percent of those interviewed predict a sales increase, some by as high as 20 percent. Proposed Electronic Recorder Mandate
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has published a notice of proposed rulemaking on January 31 that would mandate the use of electronic on-board recording devices for all motor carriers to monitor their drivers’ hours-of-service compliance. Read more...
